The festival is a fundraiser for the local Women in Crisis Centre as well as a revolutionary national program in Haiti, lead by a coalition of women activists, that is addressing sexual violence through art, advocacy, safe shelter, and legal services. This festival will be organized in collaboration with the V-Day campaign, which was started by activist Eve Ensler. V-Day has raised over $60 million and distributed the funds to grassroots, national and international organizations and programs that work to stop violence against women and girls through yearlong events such as this festival and culminating performances of The Vagina Monologues and MMRP (A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and a Prayer). We hope to shine a spotlight on the amazing artists in our community making their own kind of noise.

Performances by:
Sheezer
Rouge
Jenny Omnichord
Olenka & The Autumn Lovers
The Folk
Sarah Mangle
D Eve Archer
Ariadne's Thread
Amy Bronson
Nabi Loney
Dj Jungle Cat
Madam D
Meme Smith
And many more TBA!

The festival begins Saturday January 21 at 3PM at Van Gogh's Ear in Guelph and runs to the wee hours.
TICKETS: All- Day Passes available for only $12 from The Cornerstone, UC 217, and ticketbreak.com.

AA til 9pm
19+ 9 pm- 2 am

Brought to you by V-Day Guelph and Fortnight Music.

Just a regular Sunday night in Guelph

http://www.royalcityscene.com/2/post/2011/12/just-a-regular-sunday-night-in-guelph.html

http://www.royalcityscene.com/2/post/2011/12/just-a-regular-sunday-night-in-guelph.html#comments

Uncategorized

Tonight (Sunday December 4 2011) in Guelph is one of those nights. You know, one of those nights that has so many live shows going on, it would be impossible to catch it all. One of those nights that make Guelph, well, Guelph.Kicking off the night tonight is Toronto's Sunparlour Players. They're touring their latest album Us [...]

Tonight (Sunday December 4 2011) in Guelph is one of those nights. You know, one of those nights that has so many live shows going on, it would be impossible to catch it all. One of those nights that make Guelph, well, Guelph.
Kicking off the night tonight is Toronto's Sunparlour Players. They're touring their latest album Us Little Devils to great reviews. They're opening up for the one and only Sadies. If you've never seen the Sadies live, I highly, highly recommend. They are true wizards on the guitars. Their show will leave you in awe.
The Sadies & Sunparlour Players play Van Gogh's tonight at 7:30. More information on Facebook.
The other show of the night is Toronto singer-songwriter Emma-Lee. Emma-Lee has one of those rare voices that will stop you dead in your tracks, etch itself into your soul, and force you to reassess those matters of the heart.
